Who We Are

At the end of the classic movie “Star Wars” young Luke Skywalker leads a small band of rebels in the heart of the empire to destroy the death star. They must do this to save their planet Tatooine.  This mission was accomplished in large part for two reasons.  1. The empire was arrogant.  They never believed anyone would attack the death star with its vast defense system.  2.  The band of rebels were small but intelligent.  They studied and saw the vulnerability in the defense systems.  Still the odds were very much against the rebels.  They only had to believe in their skills and faith that the force would be with them to help them execute the plan.  The rest is movie history.  That story was fantasy.  What we are writing about through these blogs is about to become a reality.  In our story the empire is Hollywood.  Hollywood gets its name from the holly bushes which are native to the area.  With the rise in the movies and studios in the 1920’s, Hollywod became famous for movies and later television.  We will do a future blog about the history of these art forms, but I digress.  Since its founding Hollywood has always had arrogance and greed at its center.  That is the death star of Hollywood.  The empire of Hollywood today is the 5 major studios.  They are Universal Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Warner Brothers, Walt Disney, and Sony Pictures.  These studios produce hundreds of movies and television shows which are distributed across the world. This doesn’t even include such streamers as NetFlix, Amazon and Apple and many other smaller media companies such as Sendagram which focuses on creating content for digital media.  To stream means to watch a program over the internet.  No traditional cable television.  Streaming has once again turned up Hollywood’s arrogance and greed for profits.  This led to the present saga after the WGA writer’s strike.  SAGs theatricy.  It was also strike whenever settled, will fundamentally change the empire of Hollywood forever.  The rebel in this story is all the small media companies outside the Hollywood Studios.  The empire is volatile.  Transforming Television for America, TTFA, is a portal to partner with other likeminded creatives in the industry.  The vision is to create entertainment in television and film.  Are you a rebel?  If so, contact us and help us to beat the empire.  The time to strike is now.
